Bring warmth and personality to your home with custom window treatments and soft furnishings

House feeling a little cold now that your holiday decorations are all down? Kelly Wilson, owner and co-founder of Weave Gotcha Covered! says these slower, calmer days are the perfect time to add warmth, texture, color and personality to your home with beautiful fabrics.

Weave Gotcha Covered! has been dressing Kansas City’s windows for 20 years. The full-service custom design and fabrication studio specializes in custom drapery and window treatments, bedding, pillows and cushions, blinds, shutters, exterior shades and motorization. If it goes on a window or is made from fabric, they’ve gotcha covered.

“We are the only company in Kansas City that does ‘all of the pieces’—we design, measure, sell fabrics/trim/hardware, fabricate and install. We also do a bit of small wood working/upholstery building for items such as banquettes and headboards,” Kelly says.

Kelly’s team uses fabric to help make a space feel finished and coordinated, to enhance its style or to frame a view. She got her start creating the beautiful custom bedding and curtains for Mary Carol Garrity and her clients at Nell Hills. Weave Gotcha Covered! offers in-house consultations to help homeowners clarify their vision, then designs and fabricates custom pieces in their shop. An array of fabrics and samples are available, plus they can find any fabric a homeowner may have seen in a magazine since they are not a representative for any one particular manufacturer.

Weve worked all over the United States,” Kelly notes. Many of our clients have multiple homes that we travel to.”

Weave Gotcha Covered! serves both the public and the design trade, with the capability to handle projects of any size. With 15 different commercial sewing machines of various sizes and five-foot by ten-foot worktables that slide together, they can accommodate even the largest windows. Stitchers use six different function machines just to make drapery! They have a full-time installer on staff, as well as a repair person for those unexpected mishaps.

Many of Kellys stitchers are women who have reentered the workforce. In 2014, Kelly moved to a space in the urban core that would be more accessible to her employees. The business also has participated in Operation Breakthroughs 100 Jobs for 100 Moms, and in 2016 Kelly co-founded The Sewing Labs, a 501(c)(3), in Columbus Park to teach sewing to those interested.
