What is your publishing background?
Well, does elementary school count? In First Grade, I created my first neighborhood newsletter and charged neighbors 25 cents for every hand-delivered weekly issue.
Most recently, I was a National Account Executive working with custom home builders across the country. We created marketing publications featuring their exquisite homes, trades and professionals.
What is your favorite DKC issue?
Fall ’24. The rich textures and colors jump off the front page. I appreciate the timelessness of Kansas City’s finest, weaving vintage treasures with more modern styles.
What is your home’s design style?
I live in The Aspen by Lambie Custom Homes. It’s open, clean and classic with a spiral staircase and a two-story great room. The French sliding glass doors lead to a cozy deck and fireplace. It’s a wonderful house for entertaining, but it’s mostly a sanctuary for my homebody lifestyle.
Are there any home goods you can’t live without?
Everything I own has meaning, but I especially love my grandparents’ old-fashioned Coca Cola bottles. They owned a little country grocery store—Luna Grocery—and sold groceries and gasoline in the front and lived in the back of the house.
If you could live anywhere, where and what would your dream home be?
Can I pick two? A cabin overlooking Lake Tahoe in the summer and a beach cottage within steps of the ocean in the winter.
Do you have a personal motto or life philosophy?
“The words you speak become the house you live in.” I believe every home has a story to tell and it speaks through the language of the energy you feel when you step inside.
