The goal of this project was to transform a dated, gray-on-gray home into a space that felt warm, refined, and timeless. The client loved the existing stonework and wanted it preserved, so the design focused on elevating rather than replacing the architectural features. The new vision layered tone, texture, and materiality to create interiors that transitioned seamlessly from cool and static to welcoming, tactile, and elegantly composed.

The home presented several challenges. The pervasive gray palette dulled natural light and flattened surfaces, while the heavy stonework added visual weight that clashed with the home’s modern aspirations. Room scale, lighting, and furniture placement contributed to a sense of imbalance, leaving spaces that felt disconnected. Functionally, the primary suite required a complete reimagining: a two-story bathroom was impractical, and his-and-hers closets were inefficiently separated. Her closet doubled as a vanity area, while his lacked thoughtful storage, making daily routines cumbersome.

Solutions combined spatial planning with rich textures and finishes. Fabrics, metals, and custom furnishings softened the gray foundation, while layered lighting and materials added depth and warmth. The primary suite was reconfigured to improve flow: the tub was relocated, a sitting area was carved beneath the stairs for dressing or quiet reflection, and a new sink area with illuminated mirrors transformed a previously dark space into a bright, inviting environment.

By balancing modern silhouettes with luxurious textures and thoughtful spatial design, the home now honors its original architecture while feeling fresh and collected—an elegant and functional retreat for everyday life.
