Design Detail
Metal serves as an intentional, defining element throughout the home—used not only for structure but also as a sculptural thread that weaves through every level of the design. Each custom-forged piece was created to balance strength with artistry, bringing cohesion and signature craftsmanship to the architecture in both subtle and striking ways.
From the standing-seam roof and the hand-forged structural brackets accenting the exterior timber posts to the artisan-made metal fireplace surrounds and “floating” metal-and-cable stair railings, each detail contributes to the home’s layered visual rhythm. Other custom-crafted metal details not to be overlooked include the steel range hood in the main-level gourmet kitchen and the Core-Ten steel firepit in the picturesque backyard.
The intent was to design ironwork that feels integral rather than ornamental, merging craftsmanship and geometry to complement the home’s blend of organic materials. Collectively, these elements form a tactile expression of precision and continuity—custom details that quietly elevate the home’s identity while reinforcing its architectural harmony.
