Redesigned Residence 3,001-6,000 sq ft
This 1947 single-owner home had remained largely untouched for decades, preserving original finishes and details. The project aimed to honor its history while reimagining it for modern family living, blending preservation with contemporary comfort.
The full-service design-build team guided the project from concept through construction, balancing respect for the home’s character with updated functionality. The floor plan was compartmentalized and light-starved, mechanical systems were outdated, and finishes had aged. Walls between the kitchen, dining, and living areas were opened to improve circulation and natural light while maintaining the home’s original proportions. Unexpected structural conditions required careful coordination to preserve stability during modernization.
Original details—including trim, door casings, and flooring transitions—were restored or subtly replicated to maintain continuity. New materials and finishes were selected for authenticity and timelessness. Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems were fully upgraded and integrated seamlessly, while insulation, windows, and lighting enhanced comfort and energy efficiency.
A palette of warm woods, soft neutrals, and handcrafted textures connects past and present, creating a home that feels bright, cohesive, and personal. Kitchen and bathrooms were redesigned for functionality and durability, incorporating refined finishes that will age gracefully.
Through careful design-build coordination and close collaboration with the homeowner, the team reinterpreted rather than replaced the past. The result is a home that celebrates its 1947 origins while offering modern comfort, efficiency, and style.
