Bathroom—Secondary
This secondary bath transformed from a small space into a personal, polished, and serene retreat layered with texture, warmth, and modern ease. The basement setting posed challenges: low ceiling heights and confined plumbing routes. The arched shower demanded custom framing to preserve symmetry and headroom, while the steam system introduced complex venting and waterproofing coordination. Layering darker wall tones risked overwhelming the room, so every finish (brass fixtures to quartzite surfaces) had to balance depth with light.
Every detail was considered to make this bathroom feel generous and complete. The arched shower entry was mapped precisely to align with the checker marble floor pattern, creating visual rhythm and cohesion. The digital steam system was seamlessly integrated to maintain a clean, functional, spa-like aesthetic. Warm brass fixtures cast subtle reflection across the Sommelier walls, softening the mood and highlighting texture. Glossy Zellige tile contrasts with honed marble for tactile interest, while quartzite adds quiet strength and a natural element. Careful lighting placement expands the sense of space, emphasizing the mix of craftsmanship and comfort. The result is a compact yet deeply layered bath—an example of how thoughtful design can turn utility into experience.
