Redesigned Residence 6,001-10,000 sq ft Hamptons in the Heartland The goal for this project was to completely transform a home in Leawood to reflect its true potential. As it stood,
Kitchen—more than 300 sq ft
A repeat client invited the team back to remodel their kitchen, with the goal of creating a space that reflected both the charm of their historic Mission-area home and their love for hosting. Previously, the kitchen was tucked away in a small nook that limited function and connection. The new design opened up the space, extending it into the full width of the home and adding oversized windows that frame views of the pool and backyard oasis.
The new layout includes a coffee bar and small pantry area tucked behind the main kitchen, offering additional storage and prep space. Custom, panel-ready appliances maintain a clean and tailored look, while a striking statement hood anchors the cooktop wall. A hand-crafted backsplash and marble countertops pair with a natural cherry butcher block island. A beautiful buffet cabinet was designed to showcase the homeowner’s china sets, while built-in nooks for spices and a bookcase wrapping around the window provide moments of charm and personality. Every detail, from the wainscoting to the mix of polished nickel and gold hardware, adds to the kitchen’s layered, collected feel. The pot rail and open shelving add a timeless, functional detail that feels perfectly at home in this historic setting.
