As the first new-construction residential community in downtown Kansas City in more than 20 years, this luxury apartment tower set a new benchmark for urban living when it opened in 2015. After a decade of success—serving more than 450 residents with premium amenities, curated art, and sweeping skyline views—the property underwent a comprehensive renovation to maintain its market-leading position.

The vision was to introduce a sleek, elevated aesthetic while preserving the luxury identity residents valued. Designers reimagined more than 10,000 square feet of open-plan amenity spaces across multiple levels, layering refined materials, lighting, and detailing to create a cohesive yet dynamic atmosphere. A sophisticated new color palette and contemporary finishes refreshed the environment while maintaining its warmth and functionality.

Executing construction across 23 occupied residential floors presented the project’s greatest challenge. A phased, top-to-bottom renovation strategy minimized disruption, carefully coordinating flooring, paint, corridor upgrades, signage, and artwork while maintaining daily operations. Noise, dust control, elevator access, and service continuity were meticulously managed to protect resident satisfaction. Supply chain delays required flexibility and creative sourcing to keep the timeline on track.

The team balanced preservation with innovation. Popular features—such as the entertaining kitchen with chef’s cooktop and island—were refinished rather than replaced. Existing millwork, fireplaces, and cabinetry were refreshed to reduce waste while elevating quality. In response to resident demand, underutilized areas were transformed into coworking booths and expanded study spaces without sacrificing the building’s social energy.

The result is a revitalized, contemporary environment that enhances everyday living while honoring the property’s legacy as a leader in downtown Kansas City luxury living.
