Bathroom—Primary
The homeowners’ primary bathroom had remained largely untouched since its early 1990s construction, standing in contrast to their recently renovated main floor. They wanted a modern, high-end space emphasizing texture, storage, and artistic flair—summed up in their unusual brief: Beetlejuice meets The Louvre. This inspired a design that balances drama, luxury, and function.
Walls and ceilings were clad in textured Venetian plaster, paired with ebonized red oak cabinetry and chrome fixtures to complement quartzite countertops and a matte black stone tub. Luxury touches—waterfall quartzite shower bench, corner-reveal glass, steam shower, custom-cut backsplash, oversized mirrors, in-wall filtered water dispenser, and statement lighting—bring the space to museum-quality impact. A full quartzite accent wall in the shower creates an immediate “wow” effect.
The bathroom’s original layout included numerous ceiling soffits and trays, limited storage, and a shower suspended over a garage—plus the homeowners wished to keep the existing footprint intact, meaning plumbing and major fixtures couldn’t move significantly.
The design introduced a warm, sleek vanity with generous storage, dual sinks, and integrated ice maker and trash pull-out. Glass block was replaced with frameless walls to house a recessed niche and new plumbing. The shower was squared off for better functionality, while the tub alcove was opened to accommodate a 75” x 48” freestanding tub. Old soffits were removed where possible, freeing visual space without structural impact.
The new space blends high-concept drama with everyday livability, exactly as the homeowners envisioned.
