Interior Project: Multi-Space
Originally envisioned as a kitchen refresh and exterior update, the project evolved into a full reimagining of the home’s public spaces. The goal was to open sight lines, maximize natural light, and create a layout that showcased the clients’ extensive art and iconic furniture collection. The front entry was transformed with a glass door, layered landscaping, and a carefully placed Japanese maple, setting a welcoming tone. Inside, open spaces, vaulted ceilings, and clean lines created a seamless flow, framing both architecture and collection to highlight each piece.
Challenges included restrictive brick walls at the entry, heavy interior trim, fragmented floor plans, low ceilings in the living room, and different floor levels that limited flow. Outdoors, a collapsed deck hindered entertaining, while integrating decades of collected artwork demanded careful attention to lighting, placement, and sight lines.
Solutions addressed every layer of the home. Heavy trim and walls were removed to open transitions; bluestone pavers, updated lighting, and relocated landscaping enhanced approachability. Vaulted ceilings and rebalanced zones emphasized conversation, a sculptural bar, and kitchen areas. The kitchen was rethought with a streamlined island, integrated appliances, and expanded views. Art-focused lighting and custom dividers highlighted cherished pieces, while a new patio, bar, and landscaping supported entertaining.
The result is a home that feels like a carefully layered space where art, architecture, and everyday life coexist in quiet sophistication.
