Inspired by the client’s appreciation for mid-century architecture, this home reimagines classic elements with a contemporary approach. The design preserves the openness, clean lines and connection to the landscape that define the era while incorporating advancements in energy efficiency and spatial flow.
Building in an established neighborhood presented challenges. Initially approved, the design faced unexpected rejection from the developer, requiring swift revisions. Instead of compromising, the team refined the concept, enhancing its originality. The home’s sweeping roofline draws influence from California MCM homes while introducing a distinctive geometry that sets it apart.
A transparent entry porch welcomes natural light and emphasizes a strong relationship with the outdoors. Inside, expansive gathering areas contrast with more intimate spaces, creating balance throughout. The homeowner’s input on interior selections brings a polished and inviting atmosphere, ensuring the home feels both curated and welcoming.
