Casa Encantada

Kali Buchanan Interior Design undertook the restoration and redesign of this 1920s Spanish Colonial Revival estate, originally crafted by renowned architect Robert Law Weed. The goal was to preserve the elegance and charm of the original architecture while incorporating the conveniences of modern living.

The renovation focused on restoring key features such as the iconic clay tile roof and terracotta floors, while updating systems for efficiency and functionality. The kitchen was expanded, and the second-floor layout was redesigned to improve flow and utility.

Special attention was given to integrating antique furnishings and objects, with large windows allowing natural light to flood the rooms, creating an open and airy atmosphere. The outdoor spaces, including a redesigned breezeway and expanded patio, provide seamless connections to the surrounding landscape. The result is a home that respects its rich history while embracing contemporary living.
