Model/Speculative Home 3,001 to 6,000 sq. ft.

Modern on Cherokee

Set on a steep lot, this striking modern home maximizes the terrain, utilizing a walk-out lower level for entertainment while carefully addressing drainage concerns. Selectively removing younger trees and adding sod helped balance natural beauty with practical solutions, allowing the larger trees to thrive while maintaining the natural ivy growth on the steeper sections of the lot.

Internally, the design process was a delicate balance between contrasting visions. Being a husband and wife team, one naturally wanted a more masculine modern design, where the other wanted a softer more feminine Scandinavian modern design. The final design successfully merged these two approaches, resulting in a space that is both contemporary and warm, with clean lines and natural materials. This home exemplifies how modern design can be both functional and inviting, providing an ideal space for living and entertaining.
