Interior Project | MultiRoom

Liberty Historical Craftsman

Collected Living Design reimagined this historic home’s kitchen, pantry, mudroom and office, ensuring each space felt cohesive with the home’s original charm. Though previous updates had modernized the kitchen, they no longer met the homeowners’ needs and lacked architectural character. The goal was to create a space that seamlessly blended modern convenience with period-appropriate details—evoking the question: “Is this new or original?”

With a limited footprint, the design team optimized every inch. They carefully incorporated elements from the home’s past, mirroring intricate details from the dining room’s built-in buffet onto the kitchen cabinetry and range hood. Original trim was salvaged and replicated to maintain authenticity, while historical color palettes reinforced the home’s storied aesthetic. The small office, once covered in aged fabric and damaged plaster, was transformed with built-in storage and wider cased openings that honor the home’s craftsmanship. The result is a refined, harmonious extension of the home’s legacy.
