OAK Design Studio is an architecture and design firm run by Betsy Kersten, a licensed architect in both Kansas and Missouri.

With 15 years of experience in the industry, Betsy’s career encompasses a variety of project types and locations. Through these unique experiences, she’s learned to enjoy every aspect of the project and seeks to find opportunities for great design at every turn.

After earning her Master’s Degree in Architecture from Kansas State University, Betsy began her career in Los Angeles, where she developed an appreciation for beautiful materials and custom luxury design. Back in Manhattan (the Little Apple), she enjoyed developing client relationships through designing several residential renovations and new custom homes.

Over the past 11 years, Betsy has loved being back in Kansas City with friends and family. She has learned the value of the design process and team collaboration. Through co-creating with all team members, Betsy enjoys guiding the client through every stage of the project. She believes that client feedback, early and often, helps to ensure a successful project. With her design guidance, her goal is to create a unique and beautiful project that delights your family for decades to come.
