MSC Enterprises was started in 2002 by Kansas City native Mark Cornell, who has been in the construction business for over 40 years. Mark grew up in the painting business, transitioned to construction in the ‘80s and then to remodeling in 2002. And it runs in the family. Austin, the youngest of Mark’s three children grew up working for MSC—and quickly discovered that his passion was remodeling. As Mark slowly took a step back as president, Austin stepped in and has filled the role since 2018—and he hopes that many years from now, his two daughters will do the same. Today, both Mark and Austin are still involved in all aspects of the business, including initial contact, bid process, material selection, daily job supervision, and final details.
