“I don’t have packages; every space is custom-designed,” she says. “I take the time to get to know a client in order to know what to design for them. I try to see a space and show people things they might not have thought of—to think beyond the box.”
A native of Belgium, Karin has lived in the United States for more than 25 years. She believes her European background is an advantage for her as a designer—her travels abroad track what is trending internationally before it comes to the United States.
A few trends she foresaw include gold metals and faucets, mixing metals and embracing the old with the new.
“I help clients to re-invent their home into a space they love,” she says. “You want your home to be the most inspiring, enjoyable space it can be. Positive changes in your home also create positive changes in other areas of life.”
With the current housing shortage and inflated prices, Karin notes, you can maintain your home’s value by selecting quality, classic materials during your renovation project. When you are ready to sell later, a future buyer will appreciate the quality.
In addition to remodeling, Karin and her husband also build several new homes per year and have completed several high-end flips.
