The Northland has always been a desirable place to live. North Kansas City Hospital serves the community well, as does the top-rated Park Hill School District. Travelers have the best commute to the airport, and shoppers have both Zona Rosa and The Village at Burlington Creek to buy goods and groceries, eat out, work out, and get a fresh polish or hair style. The Village at Burlington Creek also hosts seasonal events, from an annual fall festival to an Easter egg hunt and a visit with Santa.

The area is home to residential opportunities of many kinds, from lake communities like Weatherby Lake and Riss Lake, to luxury apartment and condo living. But there’s one current hotspot for high-end home buyers, just west of I-29 and south of 45 Highway on North Cosby.

From atop the highest hill at The Preserve at Forest Ridge Estates, the Kansas City, Missouri, skyline rises beyond a distant tree line. The heart of the city lies only 11 miles away, but the neighborhood feels secluded. Set amid rolling terrain and a conservation easement full of mature trees, The Preserve will eventually feature 72 luxury properties, most built on walk-out lots. Priced from $750,000 to just under $3 million, these homes are full of high ceilings, plentiful bathrooms, sophisticated styling, and quality craftsmanship.

Renowned local builders Don Julian and Russ Groshans oversee its development, which promotes six high-end builders who have crafted stunning, fully landscaped new homes with tile roofs. These visionary professionals include Ben Cerra Construction, Carson Homes, Casa Bella Construction, Don Julian Builders, Homes by Chris, and New Mark Homes. At print time, only 17 lots remained.

Forest Ridge Estates is also part of a larger community. The nearby Anthology of Burlington Creek is a state-of-the-art senior living community featuring 97 assisted living and memory care luxury apartments, with amenities like a salon, multiple dining options and even an in-house theater. A large patio, beautiful landscaping, greenspace and walking trails surround the building, too.

Across the street is The Denton luxury apartments. Part of the MAA Smart Homes brand, this development features more than
500 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartment homes crafted with top-of-the-line finishes.
Residents can relax at The Denton’s resort-style pool and cabanas or treat their furry friends to ‘bark park’ visits.

Whole families—from grown kids to grandparents—can live within walking distance of each other in this special triad of living arrangements.
