Project vision or goals

When our clients purchased this amazing property on Lee boulevard their first instinct was to ensure their kiddos felt right at home in their somewhat dated spaces. This, albeit, untraditional kick off to a house in need of updating came as no surprise to our team. These clients are the kindest, most generous family and focusing on the kid spaces first instead of the kitchen, primary suite or formal living made perfect sense, They wanted to infuse each space with individual style suited to each kiddo–artistic and color-filled for their daughter, traditional and tailored for their middle son and spunky MCM vibes for their littlest son.

Project challenges
Each room had it's small challenges–high ceilings with asymmetric ceiling clips in our middle boy room, a wandering tunnel of closets and a dated jack & jack bathroom between the boys rooms and generally outdated layouts in each bathroom. In kids rooms we always work hard to find creative ways to deliver a high end finish that doesn't require our clients to over-invest in spaces that will need to adapt and grow with the kids and their tastes.
Project solutions
We embraced the asymmetry in our middle sons room, adding in a towering bunk wall with brass guard rails and a custom staircase. Each bunk has niche for books, toys, etc and individual sconces for reading. We leaned in to the angled ceiling and odd floorplan by creating a seating area in his room as well. These siblings love to be together so the bunks and reading couch were a slam dunk. In the youngest sons room we reconfigured the jack & jack bathroom and gave each boy their own full bath with ample closet space. We leaned into bright colors and millwork to create a fun space that would grow with this energetic kid. A hanging chair and vintage posters finished off the fun. In the daughters room we embraced color without being too "girly" utilizing the "more is more" mantra with pattern on pattern. We built a long custom desk under the window to allow her to have lots of space to craft, paint and draw.
