Project vision or goals

White Iron Ridge is situated in the picturesque lake town of Smithville, MO. Our clients, who have fond memories of growing up on a farm, had always envisioned a pristine white barn with a gambrel roof as their ideal event venue. From the very first design meeting, our client emphasized their desire for a white barn with a gambrel roof. Working closely with WSKF, our in-house design team meticulously crafted the perfect space to fulfill our clients’ vision.
The monochromatic design of both the interior and exterior of White Iron Ridge allows for endless possibilities when it comes to event styles and types. Each room within the venue possesses its own unique features. The ballroom showcases custom and locally made chandeliers, large windows, gambrel tongue and groove ceilings, and an elegant grand staircase. The aux hall provides a cozy fireplace and serves as an ideal setting for rehearsal dinners or intimate gatherings. On the second floor, there is a charming cocktail lounge for intimate conversations during receptions, as well as a bridal suite and groom suite for preparations. The lower level of White Iron Ridge boasts six private guest suites and a lounge area, providing comfortable accommodations for overnight guests. Lastly, the honeymoon tower offers breathtaking 360-degree views of the property, complete with a private balcony. We firmly believe that this project has brought our clients’ vision to life, creating a building that will host countless events & memories

Project challenges
The project faced significant challenges due to the pandemic. Construction and permitting began in late 2019, with a completion deadline of December 2020 for the first wedding. Our team had to overcome obstacles such as material delays, price increases, and labor shortages. Working closely with our clients, we tackled each challenge head-on. Another hurdle was meeting the completion date for the first wedding, which was scheduled for New Year's Eve weekend. We ensured that the building was fully finished with minimal punch list items, the property was cleared and cleaned, and all inspections were successfully passed. The first wedding went flawlessly, leaving a smooth and perfect experience for everyone involved.
Project solutions
Due to material delays and price increases, we had to make some adjustments to our material selection and redesign certain areas. Thankfully, our clients were extremely involved and made the selection process a breeze. We maintained a strict schedule to meet the project deadline and collaborated with our Trade Partners to achieve our goal. Our team and trade partners worked tirelessly to meet the deadline, and we are proud to have delivered such an incredible project.
